There are already several manufacturers that have announced or filtering - intentionally or not - that they are working on devices with folding screens. One of the most important seems to join the race with all its arsenal, and that Microsoft could develop a folding tablet with Windows 10.

In addition, it would do so in ARM architecture, that is, with Snapdragon processor. We already know that both Microsoft and Qualcomm work side by side to adapt W10 to this architecture, a project that seems to go smoothly. This would put both companies at the same level as Samsung and Huawei, the two brands that already work in mobile phones.

A novel idea ... or not

It is not the first time that the creator of Windows has a similar idea. According to some sources, there has already been a folding tablet project for at least seven years called Courier, before the rest of the manufacturers were ahead of Microsoft on the right. This project for 2018 revives the idea under the name of Andromeda.

In this case, things have changed a lot. In addition to the ARM architecture, among the few data available on this new device are the references to electronic ink. From there, everything is intuition: it may be half tablet or half electronic notepad. Little can be said about it for now.

Together with ARM, the electronic ink would be a substantial improvement in autonomy, easily reaching several days of battery even with Windows 10. For now, all the information on W10 with Snapdragon reaffirm this hypothesis.

    By 2018 at the earliest

The Andromeda tablet prototype with Windows 10 and Snapdragon will be in the best of cases for next year. It is even possible that it is delayed or never is, because it is not the first time that Redmond abandon a project on the fly.

Little is known about specifications, size, dimensions or screen quality, it is a simple sketch of what could be a totally innovative device, with the capacity to create a market and demand that does not exist today.

    3. Asus ZenBook Flip UX360

    5. Samsung Notebook 9

    7. Lenovo Yoga 920

Your wrist only deserves the best companion

The smartwatch is the ultimate smartphone accessory. You can tell the time, of course, but you can also send important notifications directly to the wrist, and run native applications.

What is more impressive is that many of the best models of today can also perform a ton of innovative tricks, such as allowing you to search the Internet with your voice, track your exercise on GPS, and allow you to check-out in the supermarket without having to take out your wallet.

Oh yes - and they look absolutely awesome to begin with.

For some time, jumping into the world of smart watches was a risky move. But now, with the compelling efforts put forth by Google with Android Wear, Apple with watchOS, and more, there has never been a better time to put portable technology on a leash.

Choosing the smartwatch that is right for you is not easy, but we hope that the exciting process of choosing your next (or first!) Smartwatch is as simple as possible.

    1. Apple Watch 2

    Fitness takes over Apple Watch

Operating system: watchOS 3 | Compatibility: iOS | Display: 1.53 "OLED | Processor: S2 dual-core | band sizes: Varies drastically by clock size | storage board: 8GB (only 2GB and 75MB allowed by music and photos, respectively) | battery: 18 hours | IP rating: IPX7 | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC

The Apple Watch 2 is the best smartwatch you can buy right now. It's water resistant, which means it's more durable than most other devices on this list and you will not have to worry about letting it get wet when you're jogging outdoors.

There is GPS on board to make running a bit easier, plus the latest watchOS 3 software comes running. Intelligent design that looks very similar to the original Apple Watch. Be careful, the Apple Watch 2 is expensive.

If you already have an Apple Watch, Apple Watch 2 may not be worth the upgrade, but there are some solid improvements that mean it's worth spending that little bit more if this is your first usable Apple laptop.

    2. Samsung Gear S3

Samsung's latest big bet against Apple - literally

    Operating system: Tizen OS | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Display: 1.3 "360 x 360 Super AMOLED | Processor: Dual-core 1.0 GHz | band sizes: S (105 x 65mm) L (130 x 70mm) | storage board: 4GB | battery life: 3 days | Charging method: Wireless | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G

Despite a serious lack of original applications, the Samsung Gear S3 is one of the best options in the market.

The intuitive controls and Samsung Gear S2 Super AMOLED screen are back in full form here. In addition, the GPS makes its debut in the Gear S3.

While its appearance is more executive than the Gear S2, it rocks an IP68 protected construction and can last up to 3 days of use before needing a load.

Samsung recently made the Gear S3 (and Gear S2, for that matter) compatible with iOS. Therefore, if you are looking for a more traditional alternative to the Apple Watch, you may have found the perfect one.

    3. LG watch style

The thinnest Android Wear smartwatch on the market

    Compatibility: Android 4.3+, iOS8.2 + | Display: 1.2 "360 x 360 P-OLED | Processor: Snapdragon Wear 2100 | Storage board: 4GB | Battery life: up to 24 hours | Charging method: USB conductive charger | IP Rating: IP67 | Connectivity: Wi-Fi , Bluetooth

The watch style of LG (built in collaboration with Google) offers everything that is to love the best Android Wear smartwatches, it removes the fearful casing deflated, and fills the gap with interesting features, useful and a lot of .. style

Put all that together and you're left with a very attractive presentation that makes a strong and powerful argument for the usable Google platform. But here are some family issues.

The battery life is still a weak point, and, as independent as Android Wear 2.0 claims to be, Google is still in the early days of filling the new Play Store with compatible applications that are attractive enough to differentiate yours. The appeal of the style lies more in what will be soon, rather than what is in the release.

That said, it's easy to express why Style is the only smart watch we want to put on our wrists. For $ 249, (£ 249 / AU $ 325, but not confirmed for AU), it offers the same utility as previous smartwatch attempts, but ups the ante with a slim and elegant design and several welcome features, such as Google Assistant Voice activated and an updated user interface that is full of smart settings.

    4. LG Watch Sport

Google Android phone on your wrist

Operating system: Android Wear 2.0 | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Display: 1.38 "OLED | Processor: Snapdragon Wear 2100 | band sizes: large fixed band | on-board storage: 4GB | battery: 16 hours | Charging Method: Wireless | IP Rating: IP68 | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth , NFC

LG Watch Sport is the smartwatch to take at this moment simply because it is a full-featured fitness tracker wrapped in a smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0. While other smart watches can do "fitness tracking" that barely collects the amount of trots and calories burned, this watch tracks your strength training, too.

It is also one of the few smart watches that supports an LTE connection, that is, if you insert a SIM card on the back of the watch, you can make and receive calls and data without your smartwatch nearby.

It does not have the best battery life, although its size is larger than normal, and applications are still announced for the newly renewed Google platform. But it is an appropriate step for Android Wear and for smart watches in general.

    5. Asus ZenWatch 3

    ZenWatch develops its third attempt

    Operating system: Android Wear | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Display: 1.39 "400 x 400 AMOLED | Processor: Snapdragon Wear 2100 | Case Dimensions: 44mm Diameter, 9.9mm Thickness | On-Board Storage: 4GB | Battery: 2 Days | Charging Method: Through proprietary USB charger | IP Rating: IP67 | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

If you're in the market for an Android Wear smartwatch, the Asus ZenWatch 3 should be near the top of your list. It has a large screen, useful hardware buttons and good battery life. And although the process of adopting Android Wear 2.0 has been slow, the company says it will be out soon.

His style may not be for everyone, and he lacks some sensors, but Asus did an admirable job designing a watch that looks more like a premium watch than a piece of lifeless technology.

    6. Huawei watch 2

A well-equipped smartwatch with too many functions

Operating system: Android Wear 2.0 | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Display: 1.2 "AMOLED | Processor: Snapdragon wear 2100 | Sizes Band: Replaceable band Fixed at 140-210mm | Storage board: 4GB | Battery: Up to 2 days | Charging method: Wired | IP Rating: IP68 | Connectivity: Wi -Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, 4G (In selected regions)

It is not the successor that we imagined it would be, the Huawei Watch 2 attracts a sports crowd that values function over form. And in terms of functions, this smartwatch is full of them. GPS, NFC, even 4G connectivity is available in some regions.

For all its benefits, we want the Huawei watch 2 to be maintained with a Premium design. The bulky construction, mostly plastic, does not go well against the toughest competition. Also a drawback is that its screen is smaller in this version, but on the positive side, it has won spiffy Android Wear 2.0 software.

    7. Moto 360 (2nd generation)

The Moto smartwatch is a matter of beauty

Operating system: Android Wear | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Display: 1.37 "or 1.56" LCD | Processor: 1.2 GHz quad-core | Dimensions of the box: 42 mm or a diameter of 46 mm, each 11.4mm thick | On board storage: 4GB | Battery: 1.5-2 days, depending on size | Charging method: wireless | IP Classification: IP67 | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth...

    8. Apple Watch

IPhone-fixed smartwatch is expensive, but convenient

Operating system: watchOS 3 | Compatibility: iOS | Screen: 1.53 "OLED | Processor: S1 System-in-Package (SIP) | Band sizes: Drastically varies by style | Storage board: 8GB (only 2GB and 75MB allowed by music and photos, respectively) | Battery: 18 hours | Charging method: Wireless | IP Rating: IPX7 | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC

Once you get over the high price, estee is a genuinely useful thing to have around sometimes. Being able to check when you have a message, or see who is calling and be able to make quick decisions, feels like the future, especially when you're exercising or in another situation where grabbing your phone is not practical.

The new Apple watchOS 3 enhancements really help this leap into the future SmartWatch, even if the hardware is more than a year old. Now it's faster, more usable and comes with watch faces that make it feel more personal.

And as application developers use the new tools, there will be much more to come as well.

Also, the Apple Watch 2 now is not as expensive as it once was.

    9. Huawei watch

The debut of the wearable Huawei makes a striking entrance

Operating system: Android Wear | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Display: 1.4 "AMOLED | Processor: 1.2 GHz quad-core | Case dimensions: 42 mm in diameter, 11.3 mm in thickness | on-board storage: 4 GB | battery: 2 days | Charging method: Wireless | IP Classification: IP67 | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

The Huawei watch is not perfect, with the life of the dubious battery that ruins the magnificent presentation. The imminent update of Android Wear 2.0 should help improve that.

But that should not stop you, since its price, once high, is falling fast and, in general, it's an almost perfect mix of fashion and technology that is closer to winning the title of "smartwatch that I would really wear".

    10. Samsung Gear S2

A smartwatch that has withstood the test of time

    Operating system: Tizen OS | Compatibility: Android, iOS | Display: 1.2 "360 x 360 Super AMOLED | Processor: Dual-core 1.0 GHz | band sizes: S (105 x 65mm) L (130 x 70mm) | storage board: 4GB | battery life: More than 1 day | Charging method: Wireless | IP Rating: IP68 | Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G (in some regions)...

The biggest concern of middle range brands is the Chinese terminals. These brands, which over the years have been gaining popularity, are making all the monopoly of phones worldwide and have a great reason to be so high: high quality and performance at a low price.

This time we bring you another of those smartphones that have an incredible value for money: the HomTom S9 Plus. Another manufacturer that comes out of nowhere and surprises us with a terminal that offers a lot from the hardware section with a next-generation screen, which covers almost the entire front leaving a small space for the front camera and the classic start button very similar to what we would find in Samsung models.

    A modern design

The design is quite current and seems to be designed to compete with the most modern smartphones on the market due to several factors. The front finish is very similar to what we would find in models like the LG G3, only with the start button on the bottom of the front surface.

The side finish is metallic and the back gives a feeling very similar to that of the sides. The buttons, as we mentioned just above, we find the basic below which is at the same time the fingerprint reader. On the left side we find the lock button and the volume adjustment button.

The size and dimensions of the HomTom S9 Plus are somewhat greater than what we might call a standard model, but as we will see later, it is large enough to see everything we need without problem, but not too much for us to reach inconvenience.

    A quality screen

As we have just said, the first thing that surprises us about this terminal is its 5.99-inch screen. The technology used in this occasion is IPS Display, panels that despite their longevity do not stop to reap successes and work in a more than correct way in the smartphones to which they are implanted.

Despite its large screen size is not extremely large because, as we said above, it occupies more than 70% of the front surface of the phone so from a technical point of view will accommodate most hands without be uncomfortable

Since it is a Chinese terminal we expect a good value for money, although in the screen resolution of the same we do not find that positive point, but for most things it will be more than enough. This smartphone has a resolution of 720 x 1440, that is, HD +.

Being such a large screen the first thing that gives us is a sensation of fragility very considerable, but the manufacturer provides us with the same terminal a simple tempered glass as a protector, which will significantly reduce some other impact received by the screen. Direct way

Regarding the contrast and brightness we can’t say too much because being an analysis and not a review we can’t tell you if it will adjust better or worse to your needs, but from the technical section everything indicates that yes, we can differentiate the colors and appreciate the images in a more than acceptable quality.

Good performance adjustable to almost all needs

As we always say, this is the field that we most have to take into account when buying any electronic device, especially if we are demanding users that we are going to constantly put the gadget to the limit. We will start by giving you some information about a component that is essential for a good hardware section: the processor. The HomTom S9 Plus CPU is a MediaTek MT6750T with 8 cores up to 1.5GHz.

As far as RAM is concerned, we find something that surprises us due to its price since it has exactly the same thing that we could find in phones classified in high categories such as the Samsung S7. The HomTom S9 Plus has 4 GB of RAM to perform at its maximum without any difficulty. In addition, it comes with 64 GB of storage.

In the benchmark section we find very good results on the performance of this terminal, especially when we realize that it can compete with names like the Sony Xperia Z Ultra or the Oukitel K3. In short, it performs the Chinese smartphone quite well.

The HomTom S9 Plus has two speakers which are located on the bottom, one on each side of the opening for the charger or micro USB port, that is, the conventional slot that we see in many terminals today, although each Once again they are switching to a USB Type C port.

In the battery we find good and bad parts, this is because it offers a more than decent autonomy thanks to its 4,050 mAh, but on the other hand the battery itself is integrated into the terminal, that is, we cannot take it out in case of that we keep the smartphone frozen so for many this can be a negative point.

    Dual Camera and Android 7.0

Then we will talk about the two cameras that have this phone, or rather, the three since it has two rears and one front. The dual rear has 16 MP and 5 MP resolutions, something quite common within a photographic hardware system like this one. It has a flash 2.2 for those times when we have poor lighting when taking a picture.

The front camera is quite curious and will surprise us a lot since the location of this one is something particular. It is located at the bottom of the front face of the phone, just to the left of the start button in the top position next to the speaker used for calls as we would be used to seeing. This has a resolution of 13 MP.

Unlike the camera, the HomTom S9 Plus software will not surprise us as much as it is Android 7.0. Thanks to its hardware section and other components we will have a good smartphone both in performance and aesthetically because it will work smoothly.

Is it worth the HomTom S9 Plus?

Obviously this section depends on tastes and what we are looking for. As we said at the beginning, a Chinese terminal is characterized by offering good performance in exchange for a low cost and this could not be less. We can buy it in Gearbest from just 135 euros.

It is a very economical terminal with a very elegant design. Its performance is not anything to write home about, but it will be more than enough for most users looking for a great terminal at low prices.

    COMPLETE AND ATTRACTIVE

The OnePlus 5 has proved to be a tremendously powerful terminal, very elegant, with cameras that attract attention and outstanding autonomy. It is a phone that, for the price you have, is a more than recommended purchase for the most demanding.

Although the OnePlus 5 has been on the market for some time, when we were offered the opportunity to try it and write an analysis, we do not doubt it at any time. Because the OnePlus 5 is one of those phones that have that "something special" that makes you can’t stop using it, and that call your attention in a special way.

Today we bring you the review of OnePlus 5, so you can discover with us how a phone can compete against the top of the range of many companies, for a price between 200 and 300 euros less than theirs. OnePlus has done it again, has curled the curl, and has offered us a good device, nice and (for the features that it has) cheap. Let's meet him

    OnePlus 5: features

    • Screen 5.5 "FullHD (1920x1080), 401 ppp, 2.5D with Gorilla Glass 5
    • Storage 64/128 GB
    • RAM memory 6/8 GB
    • Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
    • GPU Adreno 540
    • Cameras Double rear camera 16 and 20 megapixels, front 16 megapixels
    • Battery 3,300 mAh
    • Dimensions 154.2 x 74.1 x 7.25 mm, 153 grams
    • Other Fingerprint Reader, Fast Charge, Dual SIM, USB Type-C, NFC

    Design

In design, OnePlus offers us a terminal with a screen with a very marked 2.5D finish. It has significant bevels that give a very pleasant sensation of continuity, and that facilitate the ergonomics of the device.

We are facing a terminal with a weight of 153 grams that feels very light, and that inevitably reminds us of the iPhone 7. Despite being the model that follows the OnePlus 3 / 3T, the truth is that the change in design is more that appreciable, being a phone much more rounded and with better finish. Of course, it is still not resistant to water, which is a feature that we would have liked to find.

The OnePlus 5 has a finish with curved edges very elegant, with a 2.5D screen that gives a great sense of continuity

The side edges of the screen are very thin, and black interior frame is not appreciated, so the surface that you seem to observe from the screen is what you really have. It also draws attention to its thickness, which, if we compare it with a OnePlus 3 / 3T, it is noticeably thinner, partly also due to the bevel of the edges.

If we analyze part by part of the device, we find on the front in the upper area the headset, the front camera, the sensors, and the home button / fingerprint reader at the bottom, accompanied by the capacitive buttons: two subtle luminous points. You have to say about these buttons that actually their surface is greater than the luminous point, so do not worry, you will not have to have the precision of a surgeon to touch them.

On the lower edge we have the speaker, the USB Type-C connector, microphone and 3.5mm jack.

The right side, meanwhile, has the power button, and the slot for two nanoSIM cards.

On the left edge we find the volume control buttons, accompanied by the already known slider to change the modes of the device (silence, do not disturb and normal).

Finally, the back of the OnePlus 5 shows the double camera, the flash, and another noise canceling microphone. Unlike its predecessors, in this case the rear camera (chambers) is no longer in the central position. It protrudes slightly from the body of the device, so be careful when leaning on the table to avoid damaging them in any way.

    Screen

¡Ahhh!, the OnePlus 5 screen, hated by some, loved by many. What is our opinion? Well, we have a very good screen that, without being exceptional, is more than enough so that we do not miss anything else.

Some people have criticized that it has a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels in a size of 5.5 inches. If you usually read our reviews you will know that, normally, we say that this does not seem like a problem. A FullHD resolution for a size of 5.5 inches leaves a density of about 400 dpi, allowing you to see clear, sharp and well-defined images. In addition, by not going to higher resolutions, the performance of the processor is optimized, and with it the autonomy of the battery.

“The phone has a FullHD screen, something that for some is too fair. For us it is a correct choice that offers better performance, autonomy and price”

In summary, we think it is a very wise decision from our point of view. Of course, if we have higher resolution screens, the definition will be even higher, but this will lead in most cases to a worse performance, a lower autonomy, or a higher price. You have to choose.

The brightness of the OnePlus 5 screen is remarkable, and you will not have problems to see it outdoors even at medium values. If you use it with the maximum brightness, you will get a nice facial tan. Regarding colors and contrast, it is a good screen, with a good calibration of colors, less saturated than in other phones of the competition ... As always; this is a matter of taste.

The finish of the screen is 2.5D, and has very rounded edges. The aspect that this offers to the set is outstanding, and even at the time of using it, that detail is appreciated for the ergonomics of the device.

In addition, we can say that, during the two weeks that we have been able to test the terminal, we have done it without any case or screen protector, and neither the screen nor the back show the slightest touch, use mark or flaw . We are therefore faced with a really tough construction, with Corning Corilla Glass 5 cover glass for the screen.

To finish, we could not stop talking about the famous jelly or jelly effect. There are blogs that will tell you that they have noticed, and others that do not. In our unit we have been able to notice it on some occasion, but it is not always noticed, nor does everyone really appreciate the effect, even if you notice it becomes something worrying or bothers you.

There is a lot of sensationalism about it, but the truth is that while you are scrolling at full speed through your Twitter feed or through a web, you are not reading what is shown on the screen (at that speed it would be impossible), therefore, although This effect, the truth is that you will give quite the same. The rest of the user experiences will more than make up for any inconvenience.

    Performance

In the performance section, we can only say good things about this terminal. The OnePlus 5 is what it is: a real beast in features, which are also well used and give their best.

At the level of moving applications, demanding games with 3D graphics, multitasking ... you will not have the slightest problem at all. While it is true that, depending on what phone you have, you may be worth the change or not in this regard. Many have asked us if, having a OnePlus 3 or 3T, it is worth the change. Our opinion is that, if you do it just for performance, probably not. But if you consider the rest of the features, it's another story.

In our case, we are analyzing the OnePlus 5 with 8 GB of internal memory and 128 GB of storage. With this team we have achieved an AnTuTu result of, nothing more and nothing less than 168.254 points. There is little to add to that. Basically today it is difficult to think of something that this phone cannot move with an excellent ease.

On the rest of the sections of the device, its performance is also very positive. For example, we were very surprised by his speaker, both for the clarity of the sound and for its nuances and, above all, for the volume it is capable of delivering (really high).

In the section of battery, the union of the Snapdragon 835 and the efficient management of its 8 cores, with the use of a screen with FullHD resolution, make this device can arrive at the end of the day with 45% of available battery. We really have been surprised by their autonomy, which compared with the OnePlus 3 and 3T is an improvement in this regard.

“The autonomy of the OnePlus 5 has surprised us. It will allow you to reach the end of the day with practically half the battery available.”

Also noteworthy is the excellent operation of the fingerprint reader, fast, reliable, practically instantaneous, and located on the front (which on a personal level is something we prefer).

In short, we are facing a terminal that has features that more than meet the needs of anyone, both in power and storage (in the case of 128 GB, which seem more than enough unless you want to carry a collection of 100 movies on the phone). It is a careful device, balanced in all its aspects, and with a brilliant performance in any task, both in terms of performance and video, audio, interaction ... You can’t ask for more.

    Cameras

The OnePlus 5 has a 16 megapixel front camera with f / 2.0 apertures, and two rear cameras: a 16 megapixel camera with aperture f / 1.7, and a 20 megapixel camera with aperture f / 2.6. All of them have Sony IMX sensors. In addition, the rear cameras are accompanied by a dual flash, how could it be otherwise?

If we go into detail about its dual rear camera, we see that it allows us to record video at 4K, at 1080p at 60 FPS or 30 FPS, and even at 720p at 120 FPS. It also allows an "almost-optical" zoom x2 that offers a really good result (it reminds us in that sense to Honor 9).

If we focus on the rear cameras, it highlights the speed and precision with which it focuses the images, even in situations of less luminosity, and the good colors that it reflects. Partly also for not having a screen too saturated, the colors captured resemble reality more than in other cases.

The camera has different modes, but we find the "pro mode" options very interesting, which allow us to take a picture manually adjusting the ISO, white balance, aperture, shutter speed ... The screen shows a histogram and an artificial horizon as aids when it comes to taking the best possible photograph.

We liked the good functioning of the portrait mode, which manages to blur the background much more to highlight the subject in the foreground. The results in these types of modes are usually not as good as we might expect; However, in the case of OnePlus 5, we have managed to take really attractive pictures with this mode, without needing to take too long to focus, place the subject ... It is quite fast when locating the foreground and the background, for what the photographs we do will be more natural, and we will not lose the moment even if the subject is not posing for us.

If you want to see for yourself some of the photos we have made with this OnePlus 5, click on the following image to access the gallery.

In low light conditions also highlights the good result of the cameras, which hardly introduce noise even with higher ISO values. Actually, we are facing a group of top-level cameras, which has little or nothing to envy the competition, and which will delight those who trust their smartphone when taking pictures every day.

The front camera has also offered very good results, clear images, well defined, focused, and more than enough opening for selfies and group photos. It does not have a frontal flash, but it is not an excessively valued extra either

    Summary

The OnePlus 5 is, basically, everything one could wish for in a mobile. An elegant, careful, well-constructed, ergonomic and attractive design. A performance out of the ordinary. Very good autonomy Some cameras of an excellent quality and very interesting ways. And a price that, for everything it offers, is not bad at all.

You can get a OnePlus 5 with 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM for an approximate price of € 508.98 on Amazon. You also have available the 128GB version of storage and 8GB of RAM for € 618.37, also on Amazon.

It is undoubtedly a very interesting price for a high-end terminal that can give you years of outstanding performance and with which you will not miss any option in the palm of your hand.

Today we bring you the review of some small caps that we liked, the Razer Hammerheaad BT. The bluetooth headphones are born of two different needs; on the one hand the comfort of bluetooth, as Sheldon said "with bluetooth everything is better", and on the other hand the growing trend of some companies to remove the 3.5 mm jack inputs from the smartphone.

    Razer hammerhead bt jess1

Although there are economic alternatives in the market such as the Dodocool DA143 that our partner recently analyzed, today we present a model that without being the most expensive; provide very good sound quality in a handset of just a few grams. Stay with us and tell us what you think!

    Unboxing and first impressions

We find ourselves in front of a green and black hard cover box as the brand has us, with a Velcro closure. Very well maintained as always. Along with some description and image of the product and the logo of the three-headed snake around this Razer hammerhead BT pack

When you open the box the first thing you see are the helmets arranged in a hard foam protection and a small rigid box to transport them (Thanks!). On the back of the cover you will find an envelope with the letter of the CEO printed, and inside you will see a small instruction manual in several languages and the brand stickers in green.

Inside the box to transport the Razer Hammerhead BT, are three interchangeable ear pads, so you can choose the one that best suits you, along with a USB-microUSB cable for charging the device, something short for our taste, which has a gold plating for better connection and durability.

    Razer hammerhead BT specifications

They are compatible with both Android and IOS systems, apart we have also used it in PC with Windows 10 and we have not had any problems, we assume that it will be compatible with any operating system that includes Bluetooth.

    Easy handling and good quality

At first glance you can see a light device, simple in appearance and easy to use. We have not had any problems to pair the devices the first time, compatible with a maximum of up to 8 devices, and even easier to use the following ones. To install them we only have to keep the power button until they make a second sound and you pair it from your smartphone, pc, or wherever you need it. Then just turn them on and have the Bluetooth activated and will be ready to use.

    Razer hammerhead bt magnet driver

Physically you will see a device with the flat cable in black and green, with a very light weight of 28 gr and a cable of about 63 cm which consists of three fundamental parts:

    • Two headphones with the logo of the snake that emits green-red light according to the state of the battery.
    • A magnet, which we believe includes the battery, and will allow you to hang it from your clothes.
    • The average controller which includes three physical buttons, the microphone and a micro-USB charging port.

They are in-ear headphones (intraural) made with good quality materials and very aesthetic finishes as we are accustomed to the brand, apart from the robustness provided by parts such as the rings located in the headphones. This along with a flexible cable and nice touch will transmit a good feeling when you use them.

    Razer hammerhead bt helmets3

The headphones apart from the three interchangeable pads and the logo that varies to indicate that the battery is low, do not have anything special, for the case more than enough, adding many things to a device intended for comfort would be annoying.

It has three multifunction buttons that make this a user-friendly device. Apart from being able to raise / lower volume and turn off / on, making longer presses or double press, you can hang / unhook calls, change songs, anything you can require without having to use your mobile!

    Razer hammerhead bt helmets2

It has a very powerful magnet with the Razer logo to hang it on the back of the neck. This is a detail that at first did not convince us, because although it is quite comfortable, it gave us a bit of insecurity; In the end we are left with the idea that the support is firm and pleasant. It also has to be said that it is easy to put on. We do not recommend them to use sports, unless you think of an alternative place to hang them.

We assume that the battery is in the area magnetized by its size. They have given us an autonomy of between 7 and 8 hours, and a loading time of approximately 2 hours. We found it more than enough for normal use - high. We have missed having a micro-USB cable to 3.5mm jack to connect them directly in case of need, in case we run out of battery for example. But outside of that you have a device of the most complete.

    Razer hammer head bt helmets

The cable for charging is somewhat short, taking into account that this is done through micro-USB. We can load it from a PC port or from a power outlet. During charging the handset will be shown in red, and once completed it will change to green. Very intuitive as you can appreciate.

A point that we have not finished to like is the protection that the micro-USB input brings, it seems quite fragile and although it is more aesthetic, it can add some protection. The commands are as complete as possible, incorporating all the functions that you may need from a Bluetooth headset.

Sound, isolation, comfort ... Very good!

They incorporate bluetooth 4.1 technology as it could not be otherwise. With an approximate range of 10 meters depending always on the objects between the devices will be higher or lower. As you know this does not depend so much on the brand if not on the technology itself. Recently it has started to take out devices with bluetooth 5.0.

The first point to highlight is the compatibility with the Qualcomm aptx codex, as long as your phone can charge it. These helmets will allow you maximum audio performance in FLAC / MP3 320 kbps files. We have not been able to prove it since we do not have a compatible smartphone right now.

"Software technologies that will appeal to those who seek the highest quality sound with the Qualcomm aptx codex"

Really the sound is very good for such a small device. It has 10 mm diaphragms with neodymium magnets. We have lacked treble tones and some power in the bass. This point you will notice if for example you listen to strong punch music or if you plan to use them in gaming. We can emphasize above all the clear and clear sound that they offer, that we liked a lot.

The insulation is excellent, but we advise you to try the different pads and wear the ones that best suit your earphone, since that will give you comfort. We have not had any difficulty when exchanging the pads, nor have we found the helmets heavy by including an aluminum ring. It is important to add that the maximum volume is more than acceptable and does not distort, which we did not like enough.

    Razer hammerhead loads pads

At the beginning we were worried that the microphone being located in the controller would not be heard correctly, but what we find is that although you can hear the voice very well when you speak, it also transmits the external noise. This point does not prevent communication but can make you upset if you are in a place with a lot of fuss, such as near a work. We made some calls using the Razer Hammerhead BT and the result has been quite good, just take into account the environmental noise that is transmitted a lot.

    Conclusion

The Razer Hammerhead BT is a very good option to consider if you are looking for a Bluetooth headset. Made with good materials and quality finishes, very clear sound with lack of nuance in highs and strength in the bass but nothing exaggerated.

Also keep in mind that it is a fairly complete team that offers all the functions you may need. With a decent micro speaking in general terms with which you can have a clear conversation unless there is a lot of environmental noise.

    Razer hammerheda bt box

Easy installation both at the physical level and at the time of connecting or driving through it, comfortable, very important if you use several hours, ... in summary, a great devices that we recommend if you value the comfort and functionality in a few headphones ear like the Razer hammerhad BT.
